Is Amazon 'false advertising'? AND don't trust their chat lines ...

This lightning deal for a Cubot X15 (fourth item above) put an earlier model in my basket, the X12. I contacted Amazon via chat - who noted the error - and said:

11:32 PM BST (Amazon rep): It will be automatically changed once this issue solved by our internal team and this is just the error only in the website, so I request you to place this item and you will receive the correct item only.
11:33 PM BST Mr David Callaghan: OK - I'll order it now. Just a mo ...
11:33 PM BST (Amazon rep): Yes, please.
11:34 PM BST Mr David Callaghan: Ordered. Paid. What should I do now?
Order # 999-99999999-99999999
11:35 PM BST (Amazon rep): You will receive the correct item only.
An X12 arrived today - not really that surprising.  However, what was surprising is that the only thing Amazon were prepared to do was give me a voucher for £15 as a 'good will' gesture towards the purchase of the X15, currently £112.99, meaning I would be around £50 light.

Not impressed.

I'll escalate and comment here on how I get on.

What do I want?  An X15 for £54, as agreed on Wed evening.

If anyone has had similar experiences, please comment or tweet me: @dbcallaghan

Graphic Stock just swindled me out of my email address ...

 ... and I'm rather miffed.

They said:

Over 250,000 Stock Images:
Backgrounds, Textures, Icons, Patterns and much more...

To create awareness for GraphicStock, they are giving away 7 days of complimentary access to download anything you want from over 250,000 images, icons, vectors, textures, backgrounds and more.
...but AFTER I signed up - they asked me for my credit card information.

Miffed.

I'll let you know if they respond.

Sharp practice form Google?

Reminds me of the 'Holiday in the window' trick, a fav of the travel industry over many decades.

This is the message when I click to 'buy' the free version.

Any ideas anyone?  I've tried a few times this afternoon - will have another go later.

Kindest regards

David

Bella Italia and Parking at the Lowry Outlet Mall

(Haven't done one of these in ages - so I've been very sharp, but must have dulled a bit over time:)

So - out all day- Lowry - Salford - Parked in the Mall - noticed that car park charges are waived if you spend £5 in a store (OK - it's 8am so I don't look too closely) - went to Bella Italia at lunch time - had my car parking ticked validated - said I was here all day and would leave 8-9pm this evening - was told that was fine.  I had assumed that fine didn't mean " ... but you will have to pay £7 more".  Ouch.

Got to the barrier - and I think many others were in a similar predicament as two of the three lanes were blocked by cars with tickets that didn't work - wonder why?  See a connection here?

Anyway rang Bella Italia, was ignored, got talked over, so talked back "... want you to refund £7 plus a voucher for my inconvenience ... OK, I'll open a dispute with VISA"

So - I'll let you know how I get on.

Kindest regards to all, David

Update: 22-10-12, 12:16 - sent above to Bella Italia web site.

Three have blocked my phone

So I'm thinking of going to the local store and picketing outside, like this guy.  Surprisingly enough, my data connection is fine, so I'll use it to keep this blog updated with comments if I do picket.  Perhaps I might even take some photos of getting escorted off the premises - I see that most Three stores are in shopping centers!?

ASDA 125% MORE EXPENSIVE!!!

ASDA's 10% claim doesn't work ...... at least not for me, and believe me, I'm careful.  I entered my receipt into the www.asda.com\priceguarantee and I got the message opposite.  Below is the bit of my original receipt that their site claims 'does not have 8 items' or whatever ... can they not count?  Or could it be that I've broken the system?

Here are the items I wanted at 10% less than Morrisons were selling them:

Item
ASDA Price
Morrisons
Percentage difference
Sugar
68p
49p
+39%
Jam
84p
57p
+47%
Shreddies
£2.68
£1.19
+125%

The 125% is the hike for the Shreddies.   Shocking!?  I'll report, probably to Andy Clarke, who said recently:
'From today our price promise is backed by a copper-bottomed guarantee - if the basket of food you buy in our stores is not at least 10% than each of our major rivals, we'll put our hand in our pocket and give you back the difference.'
Andy Clarke, CEO ASDA
... and then I'll update here.
